Venue rental

The Ethnographic Museum Split offers the possibility of renting its premises for business or private events, as well as the use of museum spaces for photography and video recording.

All details regarding events held in the Museum, including all technical requirements and conditions (equipment, sound system, number of participants, etc.), must be agreed in advance with the Museum Manager. The event organizer is responsible for the preservation and protection of the Museum’s premises and property.

A discount of up to 50% may be granted for the use of space intended for the promotion of cultural, artistic, and scientific activities, as well as for the work of related institutions and associations. The decision is made by the Museum Manager. If it is of particular interest to the Museum, the space may be provided free of charge, subject to the Manager’s decision.

The Museum Manager reserves the right to refuse rental for events that may endanger the premises, exhibits, or the reputation of the institution.

Conference room in the Museum attic

The attic space of the Ethnographic Museum Split has recently been renovated and equipped with basic audio-visual equipment (projector and sound system)*. With a capacity of 70 seated participants (conference-style seating) or around 10 work units for 4–6 people (workshop-style seating), it is an excellent choice for presentations, professional workshops, smaller conferences, and similar events. The total floor area is 122 m².

*The equipment was provided through the Public Call for equipping cultural institutions in 2025 in the Split.

Courtyard of the Božićević/Natalis Palace

Located within the former early medieval Božićević/Natalis Palace, built on the site of Diocletian’s cubicula, today houses the premises of the Ethnographic Museum Split. The courtyard is adorned with a Renaissance wellhead featuring a carved family coat of arms and the initials of the Božićević family, dating back to 1552. Situated in the heart of the city, in close proximity to the Cathedral of Saint Domnius and the Peristyle, the courtyard is secluded from the city bustle, making it an ideal setting for business or private gatherings, promotions, celebrations, and receptions.

The space covers 75 m² and has a capacity of approximately 70 seated guests.

Church of St. Andrew de Fenestris

This small church was created in the 7th century by converting one of the cubicula—intimate chambers of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. It represents an exceptional example of the continuous life within the Palace, where ancient residential spaces were transformed into sacred buildings during the early Middle Ages.

The church space measures 43 m² and is suitable for smaller, more intimate weddings.
